Commercial Heating at Mitre 10

Commercial heating equipment is built to warm workshops, warehouses, offices, hospitality venues and trade sites where domestic heaters fall short. The range covers gas, diesel, electric and radiant options, each suited to different floor areas, ceiling heights and ventilation. Compare heat output in kilowatts, fuel type and coverage area to size the right unit for your site.

What is the best heater for a workshop or garage?

Workshops and garages usually suit radiant diesel or gas heaters, which deliver fast, direct heat across large floor areas without waiting for the whole room to warm up. For smaller workshops up to around 50m², a portable LPG cabinet heater or a high-output electric fan heater also works. Always ensure adequate ventilation when running fuel-burning heaters indoors.

How much heat output do I need for a commercial space?

As a rough guide, allow around 100 watts per cubic metre for a well-insulated space, or 150 to 200 watts per cubic metre for draughty or uninsulated warehouses. A 200m² workshop with a 3m stud equates to 600m³, so plan for around 60kW to 120kW of heating. Break that across multiple units for even coverage in long or wide spaces.
