The magic of Christmas comes from the gift of kindness, and this Christmas we teamed up with Kindness Collective to help families doing it tough across New Zealand.
With the cost-of-living challenges and devastating effects of recent weather events, many families are struggling more than ever. The Christmas Joy Stores invite referred parents and caregivers to choose gifts for their children off the shelves for free, giving the gift of kindness and the dignity of choice. Kindness Collective also work with Community Partners and Social Services from Kaitaia to Invercargill to get toys to children in need nationwide.
Thanks to the amazing generosity and kindness of our customers, store team members and surrounding communities, we’ll be helping thousand more kids unwrap a little joy this Christmas, bringing a bit of cheer to where it’s needed most.
About our partnership
Mitre 10 have partnered with Kindness Collective to help spread the collective goodness to support and strengthen Kiwi communities. From building meaningful spaces across the motu, such as communal food gardens and outdoor play spaces to product support for those doing it tough or helping bring Christmas joy to thousands of kids, we work with Team Kindness to connect to Kiwis in need to help them thrive.
Kindness Collective are on a mission to reduce inequities by spreading kindness through directed resources to families living in poverty or experiencing hardship. They work with Social Services, Te Whatu Ora, NZ Police, Iwi organisations, schools, and early learning centres to support thousands of Kiwis by providing everyday essentials, moments of joy and care and connection.
