Helping Hand: Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill
Project: Renovate Georgetown Scouts Hall
The Georgetown Scouts needed a helping hand to tidy up an old hall they use for meetings. With the hall in desperate need of updating, Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill called in our builder mate Stan Scott and partnered up with the local MediaWorks radio station for a muck-in.
Having Stan on board meant the team of volunteers could extend their skills into a bit of building. They put in a nice warm plywood ceiling, repainted all the interior walls and the new ceiling, and replaced some of the kitchen cabinetry. By the time they’d finished, the old hall was barely recognisable.
A huge thanks goes to Stan for lending a hand for the day, to the generous suppliers who contributed materials for the job, and to the volunteers from the Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill team who got the job done right for the Georgetown Scouts.
