Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin and Mitre 10 Mosgiel Helping Hands Helping Hands – Nominate a Community Project Promotion Terms and Conditions

How to enter

  • Nominate a community project by filling out the Project Application form found at mitre10.co.nz/dunedin-helping-hands before 11:59pm on Friday, August 30, 2024.
  • One nomination per community group or project.
  • Entries are deemed received at the time of receipt by the Promoter. Records of the Promoter are final and conclusive as to time of receipt.
  • This competition is only open to community projects based in Dunedin and Mosgiel region.

Prize

  • Between three and five community projects based in Dunedin or Mosgiel will be selected for completion.
  • The projects will be selected by a committee of employees at Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin and Mitre 10 Mosgiel.
  • The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • The prize is conditional upon the Winning Community Projects / Groups entering the acceptable agreements with the Promoter in relation to the project. The agreements will include terms relating to the timing of project commencement and completion, the consequences of any delays caused by unforeseen events, inclusions, exclusions and liability, and any other agreements that may reasonably be required for the Promoter to deliver the prize.

Finalists

A committee of Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin and Mitre 10 Mosgiel employees will judge and select projects based on the following criteria:

  • The organisation is a community group or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Official and relevant members or employees from the community group or not-for-profit organisation agree to the project taking place and have gained relevant permissions for the project to take place.
  • There will be a clear positive impact on the local community where the project is based.
  • The project is a hands-on DIY project relevant to the products for sale at Mitre 10.
  • Strong before and after photos, video or other visuals that clearly show the project to be completed can be captured. The nominator must ensure that consent for the photo’s use has been granted by all the people that are featured in photos or videos (including the consent of the parents/guardians of any persons under 18 years of age) before it is uploaded.
  • The project can be completed before March 1, 2025.

Winners

Winners will be announced in October 2024.

Personal Information

  • The promoter collects and uses personal information to conduct the Promotion. The Promoter will disclose this information to third parties only for the purposes of this Promotion, and otherwise only in accordance with Mitre 10’s Privacy Policy (mitre10.co.nz/privacy).
  • By entering, the nominee confirms that any personal information it provides in the entry (including photographs) is information it has consent to provide to the Promoter.
  • By accepting a Prize, the Winner agrees that the Promoter may use the Winner’s name, town/city, photographs or other media included in the entry, and may take images and video throughout the project for publicity purposes relating to this promotion, including on packaging, or in public relations and marketing material, in any form of media including TV advertising, social media, digital channels and print, without payment or any other compensation.

General Terms & Conditions

  • Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terma and Conditions as amended or modified by the Promoter from time to time. By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees that the Promoter may use their name and location on its website for publicity purposes strictly relating to this promotion, without seeking payment or any other compensation.
  • The Promoter’s decisions on all matters related to the promotion are final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  • The Promoter may use entry details to contact the Nominator or people from the Community group or not-for-profit organisation to find out more information about the project as part of the judging process.
  • The Promoter may require the winning Community group to enter into any agreement or arrangement, that may be reasonably required for the provision of the Prize to the Community group, including approval from the owner of the property where the Prize is to be provided.
  • The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever that may be sustained, directly or indirectly, or for any personal injury suffered or sustained by the winner in connection with any product purchased for this competition or the Prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
  • The Promoter is Jack’s Hardware & Timber Ltd. trading as Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin and Mitre 10 Mosgiel.
