Warm and bright lighting

Replacing your existing incandescent bulb for a new LED bulb is the way to go – they’re extremely energy efficient, operate cool, contain no mercury, cast a pleasant warm light (they come in a few cool-warm options) and are now finally within the realm of affordable. They provide instant light without needing to warm up, which is another bonus with lower energy requirements.

Before switching your existing halogens to LED bulbs, get an electrician in to check that your transformer is compatible. If it’s compatible, it’s just matter of switching the bulbs over. This is also a good time to check that the insulation in the ceiling is not covering the lights.
