Helping Hand: Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin

Project: Upgrade Hospice’s Memorial Walkway gardens

Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin has long been a supporter of the Otago Community Hospice, and this year lent a helping hand to refurbish the hospice’s Memorial Walkway, a beautiful garden where people can spend quiet, quality time remembering loved ones.

Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin donated building supplies and materials for the gardens and buildings, fundraised and volunteered for a major clean-up of the gardens, totalling more than $20,000 over the year.

A key supporter of hospice, Mitre 10 MEGA Dunedin contributed over $20k in donations, gifting in kind and sponsorship over the year leading up the re-opening of Memorial Walkway. Support ranged from a Ladies Night Gardening Event to the Mitre 10 Add a $ campaign during Hospice Awareness Week to a trailer raffle. The store also sponsors the Kowhai Club, which sees a tree planted in the Hospice garden running alongside the memorial walkway any time a significant donation is made.”
