Airpal is a DIY heat transfer and home ventilation system, perfect for moving heat around a home or bringing fresh air indoors.
With modular kits, easy cutout templates and components with plugs and leads, Airpal is a great project for novice and experienced DIYers alike.
An Airpal system is designed to efficiently move air around your home. As a heat transfer system, it’s focused on moving warm air to cold rooms. As a ventilation system, it’s focused on moving dry(er) air indoors to push old stale air out.
Modular Airpal Kits make it easy to customise a system to you, and your home’s needs. All Airpal systems start with the Starter Kit which includes the fan, controller, and equipment to ventilate one room. From there, you can add extra kits to build out your system.
If you need to add an extra room, add an additional room kit. Need to reach a room that’s further away? Buy an extra room and 3m extension kit. Want to bring fresh air indoors? Buy a Summer kit (or a roof kit, but you can’t install both in one system). Mix and match the various kits to design your ideal system.
If that sounds tricky, we’ve got a collection of example systems you can build with Airpal components:
Heat Transfer
A two room system for when you have a good heat source and want to move that warmth around your home.

Outside Air
A two room system for bringing fresh, filtered air indoors. Helps reduce overheating during summer months, while still operating as a heat transfer system during winter.

Roof Air
A two room system designed to take advantage of solar gain in winter while helping reduce moisture and condensation around your home.

Note: each of these systems can be easily extended to four room systems with the inclusion of extra room kits. The Summer kit and Roof kit are incompatible with one another. You'll have to pick one per system.
The core of your system. The Airpal Starter Kit contains everything you need for a one-room heat transfer system.
The kit includes a fan, controller, as well as the necessary ducting, grilles & fittings.
Add up to three extra air supply rooms per Starter Kit. This lets you warm or ventilate more rooms in your home.
If you have a distant room, add a 3m extension kit (up to a total of 24m of ducting throughout the system).
Optionally, add a system expansion to upgrade and alter your Airpal's functionality.
A Roof Kit enables your system to take advantage of solar gain and air in your roof space.
A Summer Kit allows you to bring fresh outdoor air inside without having to open a window.
Only one system expansion can be installed per system.
Airpal is a DIY friendly air movement system that operates as a simple heat transfer system, but can also be upgraded to function as either a heat transfer system with a summer ventilation mode, or a ventilation only system.
Airpal has three options:
A heat transfer system that is expandable
A heat transfer system with summer ventilation, or
A system with ventilation only
Airpal uses a fan, insulated ducting, ceiling grilles and a touchscreen controller to move air through a home. As a heat transfer system, it automatically redistributes warm air from your main heated room, then delivers it to connected cooler rooms.
With the Summer Kit, you can manually change the mode to bring in filtered outdoor air, perfect for during warmer months.
Lastly, the Roof Kit converts the system to roof-space ventilation only, that distributes air around your home. This air movement can help reduce moisture and condensation around a home. Perfect for colder months.
Airpal is a modular system, so you can choose the setup to suit your home. The Starter Kit is the base of any Airpal system, and functions as heat transfer system by default. The Extra Room Kits let you add more rooms, up to four rooms total per system. The Summer Kit adds an outdoor air mode while keeping heat transfer available, and the Roof Kit converts the system into roof-space ventilation. The Summer Kit and Roof Kit cannot be installed together.
Airpal is designed to be DIY-friendly, with comprehensive installation guides, cutout templates, modular kits and components with a plug-and-lead. However, any fixed electrical work such as: new wiring, ceiling socket installation or wiring modifications must be completed by a registered electrician. Before installing, make sure you read the instructions.
An Airpal system is designed to help make your home feel more comfortable. As a heat transfer system (Starter Kit), it moves warmth from your main heated room into cooler spaces, helping to take the chill out of bedrooms and other rooms.
The Summer Kit adds summer ventilation while retaining heat transfer functionality. It can bring cooler outdoor air indoors (when available), helping to make your home more comfortable during warmer months and creating a more comfortable sleeping environment.
The Roof Kit converts Airpal into a ventilation-only system and can help combat moisture and condensation year-round. Excessive moisture build-up can be harmful to your home and may affect indoor comfort.
But keep in mind that Airpal does not create heat or cold air, so performance depends on your heat source, home layout, ducting design and correct installation.
Airpal is exclusive to Mitre10. You can purchase any Airpal kit online or from your nearest store.
