Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly aged I bought this because I thought it was going to be a high performing mix. I repotted the fern that had been my mother’s, she died in 1991 and I have kept the fern going, with regular repotting, ever since. However, this potting mix has killed it. I did not realise it must be the mix until there was not enough life left in the remaining shoots. I repotted two peace lillies at the same time. They are still alive but are growing with deformed leaves. Also the pots are nurtuirng lots of little wee flies which have invaded the house. I told the Mitre 10 about it and they swapped the second bag for a different brand, but nothing is going to bring my mother’s fern back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very poor quality Bought this a month ago. Thought it's a great deal for such a low price. But it turns out to be very disappointing. Most of the materials seem to be bark and water retention is so bad. Can never use it in a small pot otherwise you have to water it twice a day. So why would you even call it potting mix anyway? Never buy it again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unsure about this potting mix... This particular potting mix appears to have little sand or perlite in it, and doesn't drain well compared to all other potting mixes I've tried. Pots can still be seeping from their drainage holes several (8 or more) hours after watering, and the mix seems to be always wet at the bottom of the pots. This might suit some plants, but others, like petunias haven't done well in it. I tend to water deeply every 3 days and maybe this potting mix might be better suited to shorter, more frequent watering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yates Potting Mix After using other useless potting mix I would never buy anything but Yates potting mix, such a reasonable price for a high quality item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality This mix seems to be mainly bark and our young plants are struggling in it, in comparison those that we planted directly into the garden are growing much better. Also the mixture is very dry in the pot, the water retention crystals don't seem to be very effective. For a so-called premium mix we were very disappointed, perhaps this is just a poor batch?
