Peaches are amongst the most delicious fruit to grow at home. The fruit will tastes so much better when fully tree ripened. They are best grown in sites will full sun, free draining soil with protections from spring frosts. All peaches are self-fertile, so one tree will be perfectly produced planted alone. Fruit will be produced from around three to four years after planting. Growing to 3 to 6m depending on the variety and growing conditions.

Stonefruit trees have a ‘chilling requirement’ of a certain number of hours below 7 degree Celsius to produce fruit. Most varieties suit the temperate areas of the country to receive the required number of chilling hours, but some have ‘low chill’ requirements so can be grown in the warmer, northern areas of New Zealand. Water well during the early stages, during long dry periods and when the fruit is developing. Stonefruit require a spray program, particularly during spring, to prevent the likes of die back, bacterial disease and leaf curl.

It’s always easiest to return your product to the store you got it from, but you can return it to any Mitre 10 store. If you prefer to courier your product back to us, just check your invoice to see which store dispatched your order and that’s where you send it back to.

We will refund to your original payment method where possible or, if you prefer, we can issue you a Mitre 10 Gift Card for the sum equal to the cost of the product excluding handling and any delivery or returns costs.

If you return products which were purchased in full or part using Airpoints Dollars™ and choose to have your purchase refunded, we’ll refund you in the same proportion of Airpoints Dollars™ and other payment types that were used for the original payment.

Faulty Goods

If a problem occurs with a product purchased from Mitre 10, bring it back to us with your proof of purchase. We will either repair, replace or provide you with a refund, as set out in the Consumer Guarantees Act.
