Bearded Iris, also known as Iris Germanica or Flag Iris. They are well known for the beard down the centre of the flower and are very easy to grow in most gardens. Bearded Iris make a wonderful cut flower to be enjoyed inside. They last well in the garden and can be left undisturbed for many years. These plants are proud and stately enough to make a show on their own in the garden or make a very impressive display in groups.
In very hot areas where shade is not available, just plant them about 2cm deep. Bearded Iris like their space so give them around 30cm between plants and water well after planting. During growing season, spray regularly with insecticide and fungicide to keep a healthy plant and protect against pest and disease. In a very cool climate during winter, it is recommended to cover them with straw to provide some insulation, remove again in spring.

Orders under 25kg are $7.00 to Metro areas and $12.50 to Rural* areas.
Surcharges may apply for multiple items, or based on the size, weight or any special handling requirements. This is required to make sure your order reaches you safely. Final shipping costs will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Alternatively the store may contact you to make other delivery arrangements.
If multiple items are ordered and are available within different timeframes, we may deliver the items separately. If this is the case you will not incur any extra delivery cost.
*For parcel orders, rural delivery addresses are as defined by New Zealand Post address data.

No Hassle Returns
We are happy to exchange or refund any unopened and unused, non-customised items returned to us in their original condition and packaging, including all accessories and the invoice or delivery docket, within 28 days. Customised products, which include products cut, made-to-measure, special order or mixed to specific requirements, cannot be refunded or exchanged.
It’s always easiest to return your product to the store you got it from, but you can return it to any Mitre 10 store. If you prefer to courier your product back to us, just check your invoice to see which store dispatched your order and that’s where you send it back to.
We will refund to your original payment method where possible or, if you prefer, we can issue you a Mitre 10 gift card for the sum equal to the cost of the product excluding handling and any delivery or returns costs.
Faulty Goods
If a problem occurs with a product purchased from Mitre 10 please contact us. We will arrange for it to be repaired or replaced, or provide a refund as specified by the Consumer Guarantees Act.
