This beautiful tropical Phalaenopsis orchid is fast becoming New Zealand's favourite. Orchids are much easier to look after than most people think. The moth orchid is available in a range of colours from yellow, white and pink and when looked after properly it will bloom for many months in the right position. Products are sold separately and may come in various colours or varieties. We cannot guarantee which colour or variety you will receive when you buy online. See in-store for available range. Phalaenopsis like to be warm and they don’t like low humidity or draughts. They thrive in a very open mix such as a coarse bark and need weekly watering. Orchids must not be left standing in water, a water logged mix will kill the roots very quickly. We advise taking the Orchid to the kitchen sink weekly in the summer, watering well through the medium and then standing until completely drained.Monthly feeding with a proprietary liquid fertiliser at a low strength will help. Moth Orchids will bloom for many months and before all the flowers have died cut the flower stem above the bottom node and you will be rewarded with a side branch and more flowers. Once flowering is finished remove the flower spike, a new spike should appear late winter. Once your plant has become too large for the pot you can re-pot into a larger pot using a bark based orchid mix. There is no need to pot on until the plant becomes too large for the container it came in.

Orders under 25kg are $8.00 to Metro areas and $13.50 to Rural* areas.
Surcharges may apply for multiple items, or based on the size, weight or any special handling requirements. This is required to make sure your order reaches you safely. Final shipping costs will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Alternatively the store may contact you to make other delivery arrangements.
If multiple items are ordered and are available within different timeframes, we may deliver the items separately. If this is the case you will not incur any extra delivery cost.
*For parcel orders, rural delivery addresses are as defined by New Zealand Post address data.

No Hassle Returns
We are happy to exchange or refund any unopened and unused, non-customised items returned to us in their original condition and packaging, including all accessories and the invoice or delivery docket, within 28 days. Customised products, which include products cut, made-to-measure, special order or mixed to specific requirements, cannot be refunded or exchanged.
It’s always easiest to return your product to the store you got it from, but you can return it to any Mitre 10 store. If you prefer to courier your product back to us, just check your invoice to see which store dispatched your order and that’s where you send it back to.
We will refund to your original payment method where possible or, if you prefer, we can issue you a Mitre 10 gift card for the sum equal to the cost of the product excluding handling and any delivery or returns costs.
Faulty Goods
If a problem occurs with a product purchased from Mitre 10 please contact us. We will arrange for it to be repaired or replaced, or provide a refund as specified by the Consumer Guarantees Act.
