Bred in New Zealand by leading Magnolia breeders, Felix and Mark Jury, Magnolia Black Tulip is glorious. This woody tree grows well in most climates, tolerating all but the coldest temperatures. It performs best in the sun and enjoys protection from strong winds. In early Spring the reward is a mass of magnificent, 30cm large, open-faced hot pink flowers. This upright, smaller tree grows to a height of 5 metres, making it suitable for smaller gardens or featured in larger landscape plantings.
Magnolia Felix is an excellent landscape tree because of large brightly coloured flowers.
Interesting lighter green foliage.
Gorgeous hot pink flower colour.
The flowers are up to 30cm in diameter.
Pruning is generally not necessary, except for early training.
