Oriental Lilies are have the most exotic and showy flowers growing up to 1.5m blooming in later summer with a strong enchanting fragrance.
Large white stunning lily blooms with petals that curl back, giving off strong fragrances.
Start by picking a spot to plant; lilies prefer a moist well-drained soil year-round and full sun to light shade. Flowering will be affected if the bulbs dry out. Enrich the soil with peat, compost or well-rotted organic material. This will help retain soil moisture and improve drainage. Dig a hole approximately 15cm deep or to a depth three times the bulb's diameter. Water in well in heavy clay soils where drainage is poor, or where roots from surrounding trees and shrubs are a problem, plant bulbs in raised beds. Adding Gypsum to the planting hole will improve its drainage. Lilies flower from November through to March. As your lily grows tall you may need to tie it to a stake to help keep the flower and stem growing upright.
