He was quick to list off ideas on what he’d spend the $25,000 Mitre 10 gift card on, with one project likely to be top of the list.
“[My son] will definitely get a treat out of this. Might even finish off his tree house! [This will mean] the house gets painted and maybe a deck out back. I’m thinking I might be getting some tools too – a chainsaw and the De Walt cordless packs,” Jerry said.
After having to call back to check that the win was real, it all became a reality this week when Jerry was presented with his prize at his local store where he’s a regular and a well-known face. Mitre 10 Martinborough store owner Conor Kershaw was proud to present the grand prize to Jerry.
“We’re a really tight knit community and I was stoked to hear that it was Jerry that won the grand prize. He’s so deserving of the prize, and I know it’ll go to really great use,” said Conor.
The popular Mitre 10 Half-Time Prize Catch promotion ran during September and had a prize pool of $50,000. Entries were earned by playing a simple online game that challenged users to catch rugby balls and oranges in a bucket while avoiding the lemons. The higher the score, the greater the number of entries.
In addition to the grand prize, 110 lucky winners throughout New Zealand have walked away with Mitre 10 Gift Cards with values ranging from $50 up to $1000.
Congratulations to the winners!
