Glenfield Rugby Club

Glenfield Rugby was officially formed in 1971 and in 1976, the Grizzlies were formed. The club has had varying success since its formation, with both highs and lows.

In more recent times, the club has organised and coordinated a number of very successful 7s tournaments.

As the club celebrated its 40th birthday, the club president, Alan Linstrom approached us to become sponsors, as a financial boost was needed. We are now proud to be the club’s major sponsor. For us it’s not just the annual cash injection we give the club. It’s about being involved in the community, supporting the team, and enjoying the excitement of local club rugby.

Glenfield Rovers Club     In 1960 Glenfield Rovers commenced it's humble beginnings as the "Chelsea Sugar Refinery" football team.  In 1961, Chelsea Association Football Club was formed from the refinery team and affiliated to the Auckland Football Association. In 1963, Chelsea A.F.C. was renamed as Glenfield Rovers A.F.C and moved to it's current home today of McFetridge Park.

Today the club boasts a two level clubrooms consisting of a formal lunge, fully licensed bar and kitchen, thirteen changing rooms, four full size fields of which three are fully floodlit (fouth is planned for early 2016), and 85 car capacity car park and recently constructed 200 person grandstand.

900 members enjoy a variety of levels of football which include midget teams, junior and youth teams, senior men's and women's teams. The midget programme is run on a Friday night which enables members the luxury of enjoying other winter sports as well and gives children the novelty of playing under floodlights.  The junior and youth teams as well as most of the senior teams play in the Northern and Auckland Federation competitions in a season which lasts from early April through to lat August.

We are now proud to be the club's major sponsor.  It's great to give back to the community and support our current and future football players.
