Put your mould mix into the bowl(1 cup). Add 1 1/2 cups of water and mix this up until it’s combined. Add another 1/2 cup of water and mix through. Pour this mix into your tray.
Step 2
Put your hand on top of the mould mix and let it sink in but be careful not to touch the bottom or sides. Hold still until the mould has set. It should be firm, dry and have turned white. Remove your hand gently, lifting from the palm first.
Step 3
Clean out your mould bowl, then put 2 cups of water into the bowl. Sprinkle your plaster (3 cups) evenly into the water. Let it stand for at least 20 seconds then mix until smooth.
Step 4
Pour the plaster into your tray. Tap and wriggle tray to remove air bubbles. Do this for a couple of minutes to make sure you get as many bubbles out as possible. Leave to set, do not move the box during this time.
Step 5
Once the tile has set, take a skewer and draw a design on the tile or leave it plain.
Step 6
Tear the corners of the box and flip it over carefully. Lift the mould gently from the plaster, starting from the palm end of the hand.
Step 7
Leave to dry. The tile will dry completely within a week. Use the emery board to file off any rough bits. You can now paint it, if you like.
