Terms & Conditions: Be in to win $50,000 cash for the choicest summer ever


  1. Buy any product from any Mitre 10 or Mitre 10 MEGA store or online via the Mitre 10 website, and go in the draw to win $50, 000 cash prize. (Please see exceptions in clauses 2 & 3 of the General Terms and Conditions below.)
  2. Visit www.mitre10.co.nz/winforsummer and complete the online entry process, where you must enter your full name, email address, contact number and unique code (located on your till receipt).
  3. There are no restrictions as to the number of entries you may enter in this promotion, however you can only enter each unique code once when completing the entry process. If the unique code is duplicated or incorrectly entered, your entry will not be accepted into the competition.
  4. The promotion commences at 12.01 am on 27 December 2018 and closes at midnight on 31 January 2019 ("Promotion Period"). Entries are strictly valid on purchases between these dates. You have until midnight 3 February 2019 to complete your entries at www.mitre10.co.nz/winforsummer. Judge’s discretion applies.
  5. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter. Records of the Promoter are final and conclusive as to time of receipt.
  6. Ensure that you retain your till receipt as proof of purchase to verify your entry. Loss of this may result in ineligibility to claim the Prize.


  1. All entrants go in the draw to win one (1) $50k cash prize (“Prize”).
  2. “Winner” is defined as the person whose name is drawn in the prize draw held on 4 February 2019 (“Prize Draw”) or on 11 February 2019 (“Unclaimed Prize Draw”).
  3. The Winner will be notified by the Promoter via the contact details provided on when they complete their details during the Entry Process.
  4. The cash prize will be transferred electronically into the Winner’s nominated New Zealand bank account, details of which, is as provided by the Winner. Winner takes full responsibility in providing correct bank account details for the cash transfer to be made into. Promoter excludes all liability should the cash transfer be made into an incorrect account that has been provided by the Winner.


  1. The Winner will be drawn on 4 February 2019 by random draw from all valid entries. The first valid entry drawn will win the Prize. Any entry that is incorrect will be deemed invalid and not be eligible to win the prize.
  2. If no Winner is determined on 8 February 2019, another random draw will then be conducted on 11 February 2019 to determine a Winner.
  3. The Prize cannot be exchanged for vouchers or alternative prizes/products.
  4. The Winner's first name and non-specific details may be used for promotional purposes in newsletters/website material.
  5. Mitre 10 employees are not eligible to win the promotion. See full terms in General Terms and Conditions of Entry (below).
  6. The Promoter is not responsible for any notification that is misdirected, lost or damaged, or if the Winner cannot be contacted due to incorrect details being provided in the entry form.
  7. The Promoter reserves the right to forfeit the Prize if no Winner determined by 15 February 2019.


  1. Information on how to enter and the prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions as amended or modified from time to time.
  2. This Promotion is only open to “Eligible Entrants”, being individuals who: (i) are residents of New Zealand aged 18 years or older; and (ii) are not employees of the Promoter, and are not a spouse, defacto partner, parent, child or sibling (whether natural or by adoption) of such said employee; and (iii) are not professionally connected with the Promotion.
  3. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of claims and Eligible Entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any claimant who submits a redemption that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry or who tampers with the redemption process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  4. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible claims will be deemed invalid.
  6. Prior to receiving the Prize and being declared a Winner, the Entrant may again be required to show proof of identity, e.g. passport or driver’s license, and sign a declaration of eligibility and participation agreement, accepting the terms and conditions relating to the use and enjoyment of the prize and releasing the Promoter and its related companies and each of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies from any and all liability in connection with the Promotion and/or the Prize, and confirming compliance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry.
  7. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for death or any personal injury suffered or sustained as consequence participation in the promotion or as a consequence of the use and enjoyment of the Prize.
  8. All other expenses incurred with any part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner.
  9. Receipts used for entry into the competition are void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
  10. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where attributable to any of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions of Entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a claimant or Entrant; or (f) use of a Prize.
  11. By accepting a Prize, the Winner agrees that the Promoter may use his/her name, address and photograph for publicity purposes strictly relating to this promotion, including but not restricted to on packaging, or in public relations and marketing material, in any form of media, as carried out by the Promoter and/or its advertising and promotional agencies, without seeking payment or any other compensation.
  12. The Promoter is not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions.
  13. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including, but not limited to, prize suppliers and as required, to regulatory authorities.
  14. The Entrant consents to the storage of their personal information on the Promoter’s database for purposes of this competition.
  15. If the Entrant consents to being contacted by the Promoter, the Promoter may use the personal information provided to contact the Entrant for future promotional and marketing purposes including contacting the Entrant via electronic messaging.
