Terms & Conditions - Be in to win a trip for 2 to the Chelsea Flower Show in London


  1. Buy any product from Mitre 10’s gardening categories including green garden, garden care, garden hardware and garden décor (excluding power garden and landscaping supplies) at Mitre 10 and Mitre 10 MEGA and go in the draw to win the Prize. (Please see eligibility exceptions in General Terms and Conditions of Entry below).
  2. Fill in the entry form available online at www.mitre10.co.nz/chelseaflowershow with your full name, contact number, email and the unique code on your receipt.
  3. Every transaction which includes one (or more) garden category item will be eligible for one entry into the draw.
  4. The promotion commences at 7:00am on 1 October 2019 and closes at 7:00pm on 30 November 2019. Only purchases made during this period are eligible for entry into the prize draw.
  5. You have until 11:59 pm on 2 December 2019 to complete your entry online.
  6. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter. Records of the Promoter are final and conclusive as to time of receipt.
  7. Ensure that you retain your till receipt as proof of purchase to verify your entry. Loss of this may result in ineligibility to claim the Prize.
The Prize package is valued at up to $11,000 and comprises of:
  1. Two (2) return flights on Air New Zealand to London (ex Auckland)
    1. Departing AKL: 18 May 2020.
    2. Departing LHR: 24 May 2020.
  2. Tickets for two (2) people for two (2) days access to the Chelsea Flower Show (details of the tickets and dates will be confirmed by the Promoter)
  3. Hotel accommodation (twin share) for five (5) nights, 19-23 May 2020, including breakfast (details of the hotel will be confirmed by the Promoter).
  4. $2,500 NZD spending money.
  1. The Winner will be drawn on 5 December 2019 the Mitre 10 Support Centre, Auckland by random draw from all valid entries received.
  2. The Judge’s determination of the Winner will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  3. The Winner will be notified by email or phone (voice or text). If the Promoter is unable to contact a prize winner within 14 days of a draw (after no less than three (3) attempts), the Promoter reserves the right to declare that winner’s entry invalid and draw a new winner of the Prize.
  4. Collection of the Prize will be arranged directly with the Winner.
The Prize includes international air travel and accommodation and is subject to the following terms and conditions:
  1. the Winner MUST have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and Visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination.
  2. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities (including any costs associated with delay, will be the sole responsibility of the Winner).
  3. When the Prize includes travel to or through the United States, it is the Winner’s responsibility when travelling into or through (transiting included) the United States under the Visa Waiver Program to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) no later than 72 hours prior to departure if required. The winner must visit the US Department of Homeland Security website and fill in the required information. The cost of the ESTA is the sole responsibility of the Winner.
  4. The Winner and their travelling companion must travel together at all times. The Winner is responsible for all local and international transport and transfer costs including, all transport from their residence to the departure airport and from the arrival airport to their residence upon returning to New Zealand; all transport from the airport to the hotel on arrival in London and from the hotel back to airport when departing London.
  5. Flight tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. The flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airline's departure city and their current flight schedule. Unless otherwise specified, the air travel is economy class.
  6. Any changes to travel dates or additional accommodation outside the travel period specified in the Prize details, made by the winner, which incur additional costs, are to be paid by the Winner.
  7. Unless explicitly stated in the Prize details, the Winner will be responsible for expenses including, but not limited to, spending money, meals, drinks, transport, laundry charges, activities, incidentals, taxes (excluding departure and any other flight associated taxes included within the Prize), gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs associated with redeeming the Prize. The Winner must obtain travel insurance to protect themselves against additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  8. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Prize must be taken as stated in the Prize Details and no compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to use the Prize as stated. For the avoidance of doubt, if the Winner is, for whatever reason, unable to travel on a nominated date during this period, whether the failure was due to reasons beyond the Winner's control or otherwise, then the Winner will forfeit the Prize.
  9. The Promoter makes no representation as to safety, conditions and other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The winner accepts the Travel Prize at their own risk.
  10. All travel is subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of the Prize service providers. Any travelling companion included in the Prize accepts the Prize subject to these terms, conditions and restrictions as if references to the Winner in the relevant clauses were to the travelling companion. The Winner and their travelling companion must sign a legal release, in a form acceptable to the Promoter in its absolute discretion, if requested by the Promoter.
  1. Information on how to enter and the Prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions as amended or modified from time to time.
  2. This Promotion is only open to “Eligible Entrants”, being individuals who: (i) are residents of New Zealand aged 18 years or older; and (ii) are not employees of the Promoter and are not a spouse, defacto partner, parent, child or sibling (whether natural or by adoption) of such employee; and (iii) are not professionally connected with the Promotion.
  3. Account holders at any Mitre 10 or Mitre 10 MEGA stores are eligible to enter this competition.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of Eligible Entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any claimant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  5. The Promoter’s decisions on all matters related to the Promotion are final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  6. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
  7. Prior to receiving the Prize and being declared a Winner, the Eligible Entrant may again be required to show proof of identity, e.g. passport or driver’s license, and sign any documentation that may be required by the Promoter.
  8. All other expenses incurred with any part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner.
  9. Receipts used for entry into the competition are void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
  10. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where attributable to any of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in Prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions of Entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a claimant or Entrant; or (f) use of a Prize.
  11. The Promoter is not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions, including but not limited to that of the Prize supplier.
  12. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including, but not limited to, Prize suppliers and as required, to regulatory authorities.
  13. The Entrant consents to the storage of their personal information on the Promoter’s database for the purposes of this competition.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right to suspend the promotion, amend the Promotion terms or withdraw the promotion at any time.
