Episode eight and with the interior build complete it was time to move outside and onto the cladding. With such a short time frame for such a large job it was always going to be close. Even with the help from the extra builders it came right down to the wire with the blue team just falling short of completion and losing the week in the process. Next week we see the final touches put on the property as the teams move onto the landscaping. Its last last chance to impress the judges.

This week it’s the huge task of cladding the house.
According to Wayne you would normally clad a house over the course of several weeks... we have a weekend. However, we are using James Hardie Axon and Titan panels – these come in large sheets so they are much faster to assemble compared with the linear boards they are using over the fence.
We decided to put up the cladding on the side yellows see first – nothing wrong with a little healthy competition.
I’m not sure how they did it but the Yellows are almost finished! Good on them but we’re looking more and more like we won’t finish this week’s build...
Ok so we haven’t finished but what we’ve done looks fantastic, a credit to all our team of helpers and experts.

Big weekend this weekend. Duty calls, and we called on EVERYONE! They came in their droves – too much!
They said it would never get done – especially with our traditional look. Looking over the fence at the blues with their big Axon panels and one side of the house already clad and painted – I’m worried.
We had a visit from a fire truck (our alarm went off when we were removing it) and we also had a rule change – we were unable to paint all night due to safety reasons.
We decided to regroup and replan. Everyone on the team was given a specific role – and we had a lot of helpers this weekend.
Neisha did a mad dash to Mitre 10 to grab some spouting parts and saved the day!
What a result, We rose above the hurdles and managed to finish with time to spare!

Episode nine will see both teams trying to impress the judges one last time as they move into the final build week and landscape the properties. Be sure to watch TV 2 every Monday at 7:30 to see the teams progress and cast your vote which could ultimately decide who the winner is.
