Mitre 10 is proud to be the category patron of the Community of the Year Award in the inaugural New Zealander of the Year Awards programme.

The New Zealander of the Year family of awards is designed to recognise, encourage and reward New Zealand’s most vital resource, its people. 

The awards will recognise and highlight the achievements of New Zealanders making a contribution to our country with individual awards presented to:

• Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year
• Ryman Healthcare Senior New Zealander of the Year
• Coca-Cola Amatil Young New Zealander of the Year
• Mitre 10 Community of the Year
• Kiwibank Local Heroes Awards 

The Mitre 10 Community of the Year Award will acknowledge those groups or organisations working together to build better communities and provide them with an opportunity to gain recognition for their achievements and contributions to society.

The awards will seek out and promote the incredible achievements of individuals and community groups and create a sense of national pride, unity and inspiration through their example as mentors and role models to the wider community.
