Duo tape does not offer a 'custom made' pinch pleat, but a more casual tape option.

Thermal lined for extra benefits
All Mitre 10 Room Essentials readymade curtains are thermal lined for increased thermal benefits.
Thermal linings helps to insulate the window, and traps warm air inside during winter months, and keeps the room cool when the curtains are pulled in the summer. This saves on heating and cooling costs.

• Remove hooks, rings & trims before cleaning
• Do not allow dust to accumulate
• Regularly gently vacuum with appropriate attachment
• Warm hand wash in mild detergent
• Do not bleach or soak
• Do not rub or wring
• Drip dry in shade fabric side down
• Do not use pegs or fold over clothesline
• For best results, hang curtains by their hooks to dry
• Avoid wet coated sides touching

Unlike Readymade curtains which are only sold in pairs, if you need just one curtain we can make it for you.
Un-hemmed Curtains
This is also an option if you want an exact hem length to sew yourself- hem allowance is 6cm. Prices don't change.
Pattern Matching by Pair
For a more custom made look, we pattern match each pair of curtains for each window.
Samples to Take Home
Just like custom made, you can take home fabric samples to make sure you're matching your paint or carpet colours. (A deposit is required)

Pick up your Room Essentials Made to Measure Brochure and read all the helpful information and instructions first. Select your fabric from our samples and fill in the colour, design name and group into the brochure. Follow the How to Measure instructions to work out the sizes you require. Talk to a Mitre 10 customer service team member once you have completed your measurements and they will complete the Order Form and process your deposit for you.

What is duo tape?
Mitre 10 is the first retailer to offer duo tape as standard on its entire range of readymade curtains. Duo tape offers the flexibility of being able to change your curtain heading from pencil pleat, to Duo pinch pleat – just by pulling the different cords at the back of the heading, and adjusting to fit.
What is thermal coating?
This is an acrylic compound that is coated to the back of the fabric, to help the curtains with their thermal properties. Through this process, the thermal coating helps with temperature control and light control.
What is block out coating?
Block out coating is thermal coating on curtains, however with block out, the curtains have been coated 2 or 3 times, to give extra layers of thermal. This enhances the benefits of the curtain and is becoming a very popular choice in ready-mades.
Do Mitre 10 readymade curtains come in single units or pairs?
All Mitre 10 Room Essentials readymade curtains come packed as pairs. As such, the finished gathered width on the front of the curtain pack is the width that will be covered by the pair of curtains, once they are gathered and hung at the window.
Lace/Sheer/Net readymade curtains are sold as single panels. These generally fit inside the window and cover from one side to the other. These are a single panel, and generally they are not pulled during the day as they act as sun filters and offer privacy.
Single curtains are available through the Made to Measure programme.
How do I care for my readymade curtains?
It is important that the care instructions on the back of the readymade packs are carefully followed. The same care instructions are also sewn into each readymade curtain, for you to refer to once the curtains are ready for washing.
