Step 2: Prepare your Wall

All surfaces to be painted must be firm, clean and dry.
If the surface has been previously painted and it`s in poor condition, the area should be sanded to give a sound surface.
Fill in cracks or dents where necessary.
Apply Dulux Acrylic Sealer Undercoat

Note: Paints must be thoroughly stirred before and during application. Always allow recommended drying time between coats.

Step 3: Apply First Coat

Apply the first coat of Dulux Suede Effects in your chosen colour to a prepared wall (undercoated). Use a roller with a 10mm sleeve.
The Dulux Colour Effects does not look like a ‘standard’ coat of paint, it is more transparent. Our Dulux Suede colour is Tosca.
Allow to dry thoroughly (approximately 4 hours.)

Step 4: Criss Cross Second Coat

Use a wide brush (eg. Colour Wash brush) to apply the second coat of Dulux Suede Effects.
The second coat is applied in a random criss cross motion. This effect deliberately leaves the brush marks on the wall.
Overlap the criss cross action to achieve an even effect. The criss cross is a controlled action and should be between 10 –15cms long.

Hint: Do not try to create a perfect `pattern`. The effect is random.

Step 5: Other Colour Options

To give you ideas on what the suede effect looks like in different colours, we`ve used Gaughain (top), Portsea Sand (Middle) and Classic Suede (bottom).

Note: Keep in mind that the colours you see on your screen may be different to the actual paint colour. (This is due to different monitor settings and resolutions.) We recommend that you test all colour schemes with colour cards and test pots.
