Step 2: Prepare your Wall
|
 |
All surfaces to be painted must be firm, clean and dry. |
 |
If the surface has been previously painted and it`s in poor condition, the area should be sanded to give a sound surface. |
 |
Fill in cracks or dents where necessary. |
 |
Apply coat of Acrylic Sealer Undercoat. |

Step 3: Apply Base Colour
Apply 2 coats of acrylic base colour and allow it to dry thoroughly.
We have used Dulux Linen Green as the base.

Step 4: Apply Colour Effects
Roll on the Colour Effects with a standard roller (10mm sleeve) as if you were painting the wall (cutting in where required with a paint brush).
We have used Colour Effects Sistine Green.
If you`re working alone, paint a manageable area, approximately 1 metre across the wall – this will maintain a wet edge. If two people work together, the first person applies the Colour Effects using the standard roller and the second person follows with the Stippling brush.

Step 5: Stippling
Begin working the Colour Effects immediately with the stippling brush (dry bristles). Do not wait for the Colour Effects to dry. The picture to the right shows the area that we`ve begun to work with the stippling brush (on the left) while the colour effects paint is still wet (the right side).
Hold the stippling brush at 90 degree angle from the wall. Dab the wet Colour Effects with sharp rhythmic strokes to create a mottled surface. Regularly remove any paint from the stippling brush bristles with a clean cloth.
To stipple, maintain an even pressure over the complete area (do not bend the bristles).
Our combination included: Base colour = Dulux Linen Green and Colour Effects = Sistine Green.

Base colour Pink Wisp with Colour Effect French Wine or
Base colour Pink Wisp with Colour Effect Palazzo.
Note: Keep in mind that the colours you see on your screen may be different to the actual paint colour. (This is due to different monitor settings and resolutions.) We recommend that you test all colour schemes with colour cards and test pots.
