Step 2: Prepare your Wall

All surfaces to be painted must be firm, clean and dry.
If the surface has been previously painted and it`s in poor condition, the area should be sanded to give a sound surface.
Fill in cracks or dents where necessary.
Apply coat of Acrylic Sealer Undercoat.

Note: Paints must be thoroughly stirred before and during application.

Step 3: Apply Base Colour

Using a paint roller, apply 2 coats of acrylic base colour and allow it to dry thoroughly.

We have used Dulux Marzipan as the base.

Step 4: Sponge on Colour Effects

Decant Colour Effects into a paint tray. Wear gloves to keep clean.

Decide on a facet of the sponge that will give an interesting or pretty effect.

Dip only this part of the sponge into the Colour Effects.

Dab the sponge on newspaper to remove excess Colour Effects and blobs.

Using light, delicate movements dab the wall with your sponge. As you move over an area continually change the movement of your wrist to avoid a too regular pattern. If areas have too heavy a coat of Colour Effects, turn the sponge to a clean facet and lightly dab the Colour Effects off to soften the look.

Reload the sponge facet regularly, always padding out the excess on old newspaper. You should not squeeze the sponge. Sponging creates a soft cloudy finish.

Our combination included: Base colour = Dulux Marzipan and Colour Effects = Dynasty.

Note: Keep in mind that the colours you see on your screen may be different to the actual paint colour. (This is due to different monitor settings and resolutions.) We recommend that you test all colour schemes with colour cards and test pots.
