Step 2: Prepare your Wall
|
 |
All surfaces to be painted must be firm, clean and dry. |
 |
If the surface has been previously painted and it`s in poor condition, the area should be sanded to give a sound surface. |
 |
Fill in cracks or dents where necessary. |
 |
Apply coat of Acrylic Sealer Undercoat. |

Step 3: Apply Base Colour
Apply 2 coats of acrylic base colour and allow it to dry thoroughly.
We have used Dulux Ecstasy as the base.

Step 4: Apply Colour Effects
Roll on the Colour Effects with a standard roller, 10mm sleeve as if you were painting the wall (cutting in where required with a paint brush).
We have used Colour Effects Dynasty.
If working alone, paint a manageable area, approximately 1 metre across the wall – this will maintain a wet edge. If two people work together, the first person applies the Colour Effects using the standard roller and the second person follows with the Duette Roller.
The Colour Effect should be left on the wall for approximately 2-5 minutes allowing it to settle, but not dry completely.

Step 5: The Duette Effect
The Duette Roller sleeve should be dampened (not wet) before use.
Roll the Duette roller across the wall (the flaps will create a texture to the Colour Effects). Keep the roller moving in all directions to create a random effect, occasionally wiping it with a damp cloth to remove excess paint.
If you have any area you are not happy with (eg. skid from the Duette roller), then just continue to work in random strokes and it will disappear.
Our combination included: Base colour = Dulux Ecstasy and Colour Effects = Dynasty.

Step 6: Alternative Colour Combinations
Base colour Ashley Blue with Colour Effect Dresden or
Base colour Custard Pie with Colour Effect Baroque Gold or
Base colour Reptile with Colour Effect Terrazzo
Note: Keep in mind that the colours you see on your screen may be different to the actual paint colour. (This is due to different monitor settings and resolutions.) We recommend that you test all colour schemes with colour cards and test pots.
