|
 |
Dulux Acrylic Sealer Undercoat |
 |
Dulux acrylic base colour of your choice |
 |
Dulux Colour Effects, colour of your choice |
 |
Standard paint roller |

Step 2: Prepare your Wall
|
 |
All surfaces to be painted must be firm, clean and dry. |
 |
If the surface has been previously painted and it`s in poor condition, the area should be sanded to give a sound surface. |
 |
Fill in cracks or dents where necessary. |
 |
Apply coat of Acrylic Sealer Undercoat. |

Step 3: Apply Base Colour
Apply 2 coats of Acrylic base colour (with brush or roller) and allow it to dry thoroughly.
We have used Dulux The Highlands as the base.

Step 4: Apply Colour Effects
Roll on the Colour Effects with a standard roller, 10mm sleeve, as if you were painting the wall (cutting in where required with a paint brush). We have used Monaco Green.
If working alone, paint a manageable area, approximately 1 metre width of wall top to bottom. If two people work together, the first person applies the Colour Effects using the standard roller and the second person follows with the dragging brush.

Step 5: Dragging
Dragging the brush vertically through the Colour Effects leaves fine strips of base colour. You need to begin dragging while the Colour Effects is still wet.
Hold the dragging brush with 2/3 of the bristle face at the top of the wall. Evenly pull the brush through the Colour Effects in a long steady motion from top to bottom.
Wipe off any excess paint on a clean cloth after each pull.
Continue along the wall maintaining an even look by starting each new pull beside the last one.
Our combination included: Base colour = Dulux The Highlands and Colour Effects = Monaco Green.

Step 6: Alternative Colour Combinations for Dragging
You can recreate the Dragging effect by using colour combinations of your choice. Here are some other suggestions of paint combinations that you could try:
Base colour Thor with Colour Effect Palazzo or
Base colour Coolum with Colour Effect Classic Ochre or
Base colour Baked Custard with Colour Effect Tuscany.
Note: Keep in mind that the colours you see on your screen may be different to the actual paint colour. (This is due to different monitor settings and resolutions.) We recommend that you test all colour schemes with colour cards and test pots.
