Friday May 7th 2010 is New Zealand's fourth annual balloon day to help the Asthma Foundation raise money for child asthma research.
Balloon day is proudly supported by Mitre 10 and Pink Batts. The campaign's objectives are simple: to increase awareness of the effects of respiratory disease in New Zealand, and to raise money for child asthma research.
Mitre 10 stores throughout the country will sell the Foundation’s lollipops at their counters and local asthma societies ran awareness events.
How you can help:
- Txt BREATHE to 3979 to automatically donate $3.
- Call 0900 ASTHMA (0900 4278 462) to make an automatic $20 donation to child asthma research.
A healthy home is warm, dry and pollutant-free. Unfortunately too many New Zealand homes are damp, cold and below the 18 degrees celsius recommended by the World Health Organisation resulting in one of the highest rates of asthma in the world.
